Brief Bio

I am Chair of the MSW Program at Stockton University and tally over 25 years of child welfare experience including research and policy. My areas of focus are child welfare, system reform, Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs), and the intersection of child welfare and immigration, with an emphasis on interdisciplinary collaboration. My primary teaching includes Social Welfare Policy, Research Methods, Trauma Informed Child Welfare Practice, The Social Construction of Child Maltreatment, and Child Migration and Immigration, an international course with study in Guatemala. I am certified policy practitioner and preparing for my CPH exam. I serve on the Advisory Boards of El Pueblo Unidos of Atlantic City, The Center on Immigration and Child Welfare, and the founding Co Chair of the Association for Masters in Social Work Program Directors (AMPD). I earned my undergraduate degree in Anthropology at the University of Wisconsin- Madison and completed my graduate and doctoral degrees in Social Welfare at the University of Pennsylvania.
