Brief Bio
I wear many hats in the MPH Program to support both faculty and students. As the Associate Director of Teaching Support and Innovation for the MPH program, I support the MPH faculty by promoting quality improvement and advancement of teaching practices. As the MPH Capstone Director and also the Course Director for the Public Health Theories & Frameworks class, I enjoy collaborating on a variety of exciting and diverse projects spanning public health research, practice, and promotion. As a health communication specialist with expertise in qualitative research, I particularly enjoy opportunities to gain community insight, learning through others’ lived experiences, in order to help design tailored messages and public health programs. Additionally, my work through BonVie Consulting provides me with a platform for helping individuals and groups through organizational and research consulting, nutrition education, and wellness coaching. My research, mentoring, and consulting work have been applied to numerous health areas, such as type-2 diabetes, smoking cessation, colorectal cancer, risk communication, clinical trial decision making, environmental health, school-aged health, exercise, trans health, pediatric obesity, stress management and mindfulness, driving safety, and other areas. I feel so grateful to work alongside the impressive and diverse group of public health professionals, researchers, educators, advocates, and students that comprise the public health community at Penn.
